Caen have announced the signing of M'Vila on a two-year deal, the first acquisition they have made since Mbappe's takeover. The Real Madrid superstar paid just under €20m (£17m/$22m) to buy 80% of Caen's shares and is now the club's majority owner.

M'Vila is a seasoned campaigner who will bring some much-needed experience to the Ligue 2 club. He has played for Sunderland in the Premier League and also won 22 caps for France. The 34-year-old was most recently back in England with West Brom, joining the Baggies for the second half of 2023-24.
