Liverpool fans have been left in awe of Virgil van Dijk after his superb performance against Brighton & Hove Albion.
The Netherlands international scored a brace against the Seagulls as the Reds continued their unbeaten run.
Van Dijk scored two towering headers at Anfield, with Liverpool still yet to taste defeat in 2019/20.
The Reds subsequently moved 11 points clear of Manchester City after their win, with Pep Guardiola’s side held to a shock 2-2 draw by Newcastle United.
And fans were full of praise for the giant Dutch defender after a nervy win.
Indeed, Alisson was sent off with the score at 2-0 after handling the ball outside the box and Lewis Dunk scored from the resulting free-kick, setting up a potential grandstand finish.
However, they were unable to breach the hosts again as Jurgen Klopp’s men held on to claim a potentially vital victory, with van Dijk named the Man of the Match by the club’s official Twitter account.
