After confirming the departure of manager Mike Williamson on Monday, Carlisle United have identified Gerrard as a possible replacement and are considering approaching the former midfielder, reports.

Gerrard, who managed Rangers and Aston Villa before heading to Saudi Arabia, left Al-Ettifaq last week after 18 months in charge amid his team's dismal results this season. The Liverpool hero left the club sitting 12th in the Saudi Pro League.
