Marco Fabián says that he would like to return to Chivas, this time in a front office role at the club. Now owner and president of Ranger’s FC in Andorra, Fabián says his experience with the team has prepared him to one day come back to El Rebaño – the club where he made his debut in 2007 – and give back for everything it gave him.

“Yes, absolutely. I’ve always said it, and I say it with this phrase: my time will come. Obviously, I don’t hide it. I would love to return someday to Chivas and contribute however I can to help the club,” he told ESPN.

Fabián also shared that he has a strong relationship with Amaury Vergara, Chivas’ president. However, he acknowledged that for now, his focus remains on his current responsibilities.

“I have a great relationship, and also a beautiful friendship, with Amaury," he said. "You learn something new every day and continue preparing yourself for when opportunities like that arise. Like I said, yes, I’d love to return, but I don’t want to rush things. When the time is right, it’ll happen.

"I don’t know if it’ll be in one year, two, three, four – or maybe it’ll never happen. But I’m preparing for it. Hopefully it will come true someday."

Several former icons are looking to get involved in Chivas’ project to restore the greatness of a club that has seen its shine fade in recent years. Recently, Alan Pulido and Javier Hernández returned to the team, and while things haven’t gone well for them on the pitch, both insist they bring strong leadership through their experience and status as club legends.

Now, it’s Fabián’s turn. At 35, he might not be able to help the team on the field anymore, but he could certainly play a role in the front office in the future. Fabián is currently involved in football in Andorra with Ranger's FC, a club he helped bring back to the first division and which is now competing at the top of the table.

There’s no doubt that many former Chivas players are eager to see the club shine again, and they hope to one day be considered by Amaury Vergara for important roles within the institution.

After signing with Cruz Azul in 2013, where he spent two seasons, the attacking midfielder returned to the Rojiblancos before making the move to European football with Eintracht Frankfurt. He later continued his career with the Philadelphia Union in MLS.
